SEND and Inclusion

At the Abbey Primary School inclusion of all pupils, in all aspects of school life, is at the heart of our core values. We strive to ensure that individual needs of pupils are identified early and support is in place to ensure every child can succeed. We endeavour to achieve maximum inclusion of all children (including vulnerable learners) whilst meeting their individual needs. Teachers provide differentiated learning opportunities for all children within school and provide materials appropriate to children’s interests and abilities. This ensures that all children have a full access to the school curriculum. This is a curriculum which supports and develops a child to be creative, ambitious and resilient, regardless of their individual needs. The school and staff endeavour to support and to develop children’s emotional, social and academic needs to the highest standards possible.

School work closely in partnership with parents to identify additional needs early and quickly put support and intervention in place. School accesses support from a range of highly trained professionals to ensure the best outcome for each child. Our SENCo, teaching and support staff work collaboratively to ensure the individual needs of all children are met in an inclusive environment.

The Local Offer publishes services available for children and young people (aged 0-25) with special educational needs and disabilities.
